Susie Turkson

​Susie is an MD-PhD student at VCU and has been with the lab since 2018. She is interested in the role of chronic stress in cognitive function.
​
Susie is an avid baker and she also maintains a "mental health garden" with different varieties of plants.

Amy Wegener

Amy is a Neuroscience PhD candidate and has been with the lab since 2020. Her primary research interests include identifying metabolic therapeutic targets in neurodegeneration models.

When not in lab, Amy can be found hanging out with her cats, lifting weights, or participating in book club.

Hannah Fulenwider

Hannah is a postdoctoral fellow and has been with the lab since spring of 2022. Her main research interest is the relationship between immune profiles, stress exposure, and opioid use disorder.

In her free time, Hannah loves to play trivia, explore new restaurants, and spend time with her pets.

Paul Howell

Paul is a technician and assists the lab in all bench-top research and engineering applications. His research involves investigating the relationship between stress (both immunological, HIV, and psychosocial, PTSD) and glucocorticoid/estrogen receptors.
Outside of work he is an avid rock-climber and biker, and enjoys hiking, sailing, and generally all things outdoors.
