Susie Turkson

​Susie is an MD-PhD student at VCU and has been with the lab since 2018. She is interested in the role of chronic stress in cognitive function.
​
Susie is an avid baker and she also maintains a "mental health garden" with different varieties of plants.

Paul Howell

Paul is a research scientist and assists the lab in all bench-top research and engineering applications. His research involves investigating the relationship between stress (both immunological, HIV, and psychosocial, PTSD) and glucocorticoid/estrogen receptors.
Outside of work he is an avid rock-climber and biker, and enjoys hiking, sailing, and generally all things outdoors.

Hannah Stadtler

Hannah is an MD-PhD student and has officially been with the lab since 2022. She is most interested in translational research specific to sex differences and women's health.

Outside of lab, Hannah enjoys sour beer and taking care of her two dogs, three cats, and infant twin daughters.

Asher Stang
B.S., University of Lynchburg

Asher is a Research Technician in the Neigh Lab and recently graduated from University of Lynchburg with a BS in Biology and Psychology. He is particularly interested in inflammatory effects on cognitive and behavioral outcomes.
Outside of work Asher enjoys practically anything outdoors like hiking, fishing, and climbing as well as writing music and learning to play different instruments​

Mabia Sikder
Psychology, Virginia Commonwealth University (B.S. anticipated 2027)

Mabia is an undergraduate pre medicine student at VCU. She joined the lab in the summer before her third year. She is most interested in women’s mental health peri and postpartum.
Outside of school and work, she likes to paint and write poetry. She enjoys traveling and spent a semester abroad in Athens, Greece.
