Job Description: A postdoctoral scientist position is available in Dr. Gretchen Neigh’s laboratory in the department of Anatomy and Neurobiology at Virginia Commonwealth University.  Studies in the Neigh Laboratory include investigation of the mechanisms which mediate the manifestation of sex differences in physiology and behavior following adolescent exposure to stress.  Projects place particular emphasis on molecular neuroendocrinology and psychoneuroimmunology.  More information about ongoing and recent studies is available at: http://gretchenneigh.wix.com/neighlab

Candidates must have a recent Ph.D. or equivalent degree in neuroscience or a related discipline with documented experience in behavioral neuroscience and molecular biology. Research experience utilizing rodents for behavioral assays and rodent surgery are desirable.  Verbal and written communication skills in English are essential. Candidate must have an ability to analyze data, write publishable manuscripts and skills to communicate and work effectively with others in collaborative efforts.
